What is covered
Every piece carries a lifetime warranty against defects in our materials and workmanship, held by the original purchaser for as long as they own the piece. If a fault is ours, we correct it at our cost.
- A stone that loosens or is lost because a setting was made incorrectly.
- Prongs, bezels, or gallery work that fail without an external cause.
- Porosity, cracking, or a failed solder joint in the metal.
- Clasps, hinges, and findings that fail in normal use.
- A finished piece that does not match the approved specification.
What is not covered
The warranty covers manufacturing, not the effects of wear or events outside our control. These are repaired at a quoted price instead, and we quote before any work begins.
- Loss, theft, or disappearance of a piece or a stone, which is a matter for your insurer.
- Impact damage, crushing, bending, scratching, and chipped stones.
- Normal wear, including thinning bands, softened engraving, and surface marks.
- Rhodium plating on white gold, which is a finish that wears and is renewed as a service.
- Damage from chemicals, heat, swimming pools, or wearing a piece during manual work.
- Any piece altered, repaired, or resized by another jeweler.
Complimentary aftercare
Inspection, cleaning, and prong tightening are complimentary for the life of the piece. We recommend an inspection every twelve months, and more often if the piece is worn during physical work.
Regular inspection is how a loose setting is found before a stone is lost. A stone lost from a setting that was never inspected may fall outside the warranty, so the record of inspection protects you.
How a claim works
Open a warranty request from your order and describe what happened. We issue a prepaid, insured, signature-required label. Do not send a piece uninsured or without a label from us.
The piece is inspected against its specification and photographic record. We tell you what we found, whether it is covered, and what we propose. Where a fault is covered we repair the piece, or replace it if repair would compromise it, and return it insured at our cost.
Where a fault is not covered, we send a written estimate. Nothing is charged and no work is done until you accept it. If you decline, we return the piece insured at our cost.
Insurance is separate
A warranty is not insurance. It does not cover loss, theft, or accidental damage, and we recommend separate cover for any piece you wear daily. We provide the documentation your insurer will ask for, including the grading report and a valuation on request.
Your statutory rights
This warranty is in addition to the rights you have by law and does not replace them. Where the two differ, the stronger protection applies.
